How to remove decomposed leaves (black soupy mess)

I've removed all the leaves and sticks. There is some slime left over. Can this slime be floculated out after refilling, or do I need to remove every last bit of this mess manually. Thank you.

If it goes through the leaf net (and you have a sand filter) I would vacuum it out.

Vacuum to waste if you can afford the water loss. Vacuum to filter and backwash every time your psi goes up 25%
