white film when i power salt cell

Hello Everyone, we have opened our pool for the summer season, and when i powered up the salt cell we are getting a white film layer on the water does anyone know why this happens?

Did you use an algaecide at closing? Sometimes there's a reaction like this when those products begin to oxidize. You could post a full set of test numbers for us as well, but I suspect the first start-up and SWG's creation of fresh FC is causing this. Once you confirm all levels are adjusted it should dissipate and resolve itself.

the film seemed to disappear, what i did notice this morning when the film was coming out of the jets, the pressure gauge seemed to rise a little bit, do you think maybe by turning on the cell there was a bit of air lock?
