Pump--Strange Scraping Sound?

Every now and then our pump will make a strange scraping sound, it lasts for a few minutes and then it stops. It's pretty loud and repetitive, but it usually stops on it's own or I can turn the pump off and start it up and no sound. I would say it's doing it a couple of times a day. Is something getting ready to break?

I am certainly not an expert on this but my pump does the same every once in a while dure to air getting in the lines. It always happens when I lift the vacum out of the pool, when I clean out the basket and restart or unfortunately forget to reopen the supply valve.

I am not concerned on my side as I know the reasons. Hopefully this helps.
