We moved our pump further away from the pool and the copper bonding wire does not reach. Is there a right way to add wire to it? What type of wire should be used - #8 bare copper? Thanks!

Should I get the bolt in copper as well? Also is the bonding wire #8 copper as I will need more.

Unless you are in Canada as they require #6 solid copper bare wire. #8 is fine for us folk south other the northern boarder. The split bolt connectors you get at home Depot or other similar box store are rated for the service you need which is direct burial. There aren't many other options in the split bolt connector product line.
