I have a 2hp pump & 24' ABP. Water level is about 1/2 way up skimmer basket and I get a "tornado" effect which causes air to get through to pump. I have found the solution....I put one of those little pool balls in the skimmer and it "breaks" the tornado effect and does not let the air get to the pump. Just thought I would pass this along....I have been trying to figure out how to stop it and this works. Hope it helps someone. Not a huge deal....but it does the trick. If I fill up the pool to higher it also solves the problem, but then it does not "suck" the water through as well...
