    Pump for 12x24x52 intex rectangle

We just ordered a 12x24x52 rectangle intex pool. I have read many reviews that the pump and filter system is not big enough for the pool so I want to purchase a new one. Can anyone tell me what size pump I should get? I sent a pool store a question on a Hayward 18'' 1hp filter and pump and he said it would be too big for my pool and that the 18'' filter requires at least 10,000 gallons of water. And the information on the pool says it hold 8403. Any help would be great!

I have used the stock 1600 GPH pump for two seasons with no issues. I suggest you run it for a season or so and then decide if you still think you need a bigger pump.
