Wedding cake steps, which to get??

I'm thinking of getting these steps. Anyone have any insight? This is my first pool. Should I be worried about algae build up with the back being open? Just it be attached to the deck or can I just use the weights?

    Welcome Erica!

I think with the color, and being open it's less likely. Being open will allow better exposure to freshly Chlorinated water (good circulation assumed) than those that just barely take in water that keeps them submerged.

The open back will not save you from algae. Got some....been there.....done that! I've additionally drilled MANY 3/4 or 1" holes all over the place on mine to help water circulate through them. Welcome.

I have had these wedding cake steps for 6 seasons and have never had an algae problem.

I second what woody said. I take mine out and refresh the water. Brush underneath weekly. Drilling more hole this year before they go in.Step Holes.jpg

My steps are the weights, filled with pea gravel. Drained and refreshed weekly.

I really like the confer curve pool steps. I've got a set and they are very sturdy. Never had an algae problem with them.
