After a lot of water collected on the cover and pulled on the collector drum, the drum fails to engage when the motor turns to open the cover. Nothing appears to be broken. This cover works by engaging the rope reels for closing the cover using a spiral jaw clutch, but it is not clear to me where the clutch is for engaging the drum. I attach a figure from a patent that covers a similar design, but that has a two-sided spiral jaw clutch that is used the engage either the reel or drum depending on the motor direction.

Has anyone solved this problem for this type of mechanism?
thanks in advance
