Pressure shooting up after 48 hours

We have a DE pool filter. We recently pulled out the filter and completely cleaned it out. (We have done this before with no issues, so in theory it's not that we don't know what we're doing for this process.) Pressure was back at normal... about 24. After about 48 hours, it went up to 34-35. We backwashed again, pressure went down to normal and back up after 48 hours. Happened a 3rd time.

Any suggestions?

Your filter is probably doing exactly what it is supposed to do.......capture debris. It will continue to do that until your pool water is free from debris.

You surely need to SLAM but a full set of test results is needed first.

On a side note, a psi of 34-35 would indicate a full stoppage and no water flowing into your pool. Is that the case?

The water looks clear; coming off of annual live oak leaf and pollen season. Just had to add chemicals to increase pH and get balanced there. Looks good at this point.

Welcome to the forum!

What else is going on in the pool just recently? What does the water look like? Sorry to answer with questions, but please let us know...

There is no visible debris at this point. Maybe it's the tiny stuff?? Water is moving, but very slowly. What is SLAM?
