Backwash valve

Is it possible to have a permanent pipe connected to the backwash valve on the filter that is buried underground and runs to the street drain?Then you would not have to connect that Dang blue backwash hose.Is this something that has been done forever?

yes you can...just use pvc like the rest of your plumbing

Also include a union, in case you have to remove the valve. Here are pics how I terminated mine at the street.

That is similar to my setup - but my pop up flies off when I backwash or drain to waste... How do you prevent that from happening?

I screwed the green part to the base part. My total pipe length is about 140'. The 2" pipe goes to a 3"x 3' pipe connected to the pop-up.
