I have a hayward salt pool. Have recently replaced pool pump, salt cell, flow switch. Put a lot of salt in the pool because of bad pump and neglect over winter. Started up after replacing all and the monitor read Salt 2000 no flow chlorinator off. Replaced flow switch now have flow monitor says 3200 on salt turned on Superchlorinate ok cell works ok Pool temp reads 205F it's not. Also salt test strips say I have 7000 pts per million. Any suggestions?

Hi! Welcome to TFP!

If I am reading this correctly your salt test strips say your salt is at 7000ppm but your salt cell program is saying 3200. Do you have any idea how much salt you added in the beginning?

If it is 7000 I would think you need to replace some of the water.

G,

I assume that the temperature reading of 205F came from the salt cell's control panel. If so, most cell's use temperature as part of the way they measure the salt content in the water.

Since this is a Hayward cell, I'm pretty sure they can be tested at Leslie's. I would take the cell to them or another pool store and have it tested.

Thanks,

Jim R.
