Dropped some CYA in the pool

OK, stupid me trying to add CYA in the dark into my skimmer. Accidentally dropped some into the pool and it has formed into an nice little CYA pile. Is it ok to just leave it there and it will eventually dissolve, or will it cause undue wear and tear on my
vinyl liner?

CYA is acidic. Since it takes so long to disolve it would have enough time to cause some damage.

ack! so the best thing to do is to sweep it into the main drain?

Yes, that would take care of it. It will end up in the filter, where you were trying to put it anyway.

thank goodness for main drains! my neighbors must be wondering why I am brushing my pool at 11:30 at night.

I was going to suggest that you just vacuum it up.
