Pool Equipment Cover

Pool has been operating in the blazing Dallas sun for 3 years now. The equipment is located on the north side of the house, gets full sun (and temp) until about noon and then remains in shade the rest of the day. I've noticed the plastic on gauges is "yellowed" due to UVs and the paint on the filter and pump has begun to "chalk." I assume, as this is outdoor pool equipment, that this is normal, but am wondering if folks have built boxes, fences and the like to protect the equipment from the direct sun.

Anyone have any advice? Thanks.

I use a shade sail to keep rain and sun off the equipment. Of course you need something to attach it.

Saw the shade sails on sale at Costco this week for $29, and its a great idea! I think I shall add that to Skippy's HoneyDo List.

I have the same issue. I'm thinking of making a frame out of PVC pipes and attach solar window screen fabric to it.

I built this last year, mostly for aesthetic reasons and to keep the pipes out of the sun.
I have since put a hinged top on it. The back side remains open for easy access.
