    SLAM with CYA at zero???

I had a leak in my pool this winter and I lost basically all the CYA. It is now time to get the pool ready for the summer with a SLAM. I know that the lower my CYA is the less chlorine I have to use for my SLAM. Is there any problems with doing a SLAM with a very low CYA?

Without any CYA the chlorine will be very harsh on the pool surfaces, and UV (sun) will eat up the FC quickly. It would be best to get the CYA up to 30ppm if you can.

It's just a little more complicated when it comes to TOTAL chlorine used but Domct203 offers the best advice.....bring it up to around 30 ppm.
