Care for granite spillway

I have a granite spilllway from my hot tub to the pool. Do I need to seal the granite as you would for a kitchen counter? We have a salt system in place and I'm concerned the salt will discolor/ruin the granite.

I don't know the answer to your question, but I can't see why saltwater would make much of a difference.
