Trying to make sure I close my pool properly in the winter next year. Pool is set to be installed in April. I have read everything about closing the pool and draining below the return lines. HOWEVER, since I use a micromesh winter cover the water will come into the pool and just drain out of the returns. Is that ok? Should I be concerned with anything freezing and cracking. I know that pool water ice freezes upward. My question is...
1) is it ok if the water just drains out of either the skimmer or return?
2) or should I buy a threaded plug for the return and a skimmer box cover (or aquador) for the skimmer or is that not necessary?
