Add more CYA or wait?

After my Baq-to-Chlorine conversion a couple of weeks ago, I used the pool calculator to add enough CYA to bring it up to 40. I tested after 5 days and got a reading of 30 using the TF test kit. So I used the calculator again to add enough to 40 and tested just now and got 30 still, it's been 5 days again, shouldn't it go up by now? I'm afraid to add more. Should I give it a few more days and test again?

oh, here's my test results. My daily chlorine use has been pretty consistent at around 2 ppm each day this week. Not bad since we've been in it several times this week and had guests over last night, not to mention the sunny days we've had.

Five days should be long enough. We say a week just to be sure we catch the extreme, and rather rare, cases (very cold water, low flow rates, etc).

Did you add (40ppm + 10ppm) or did you add (40ppm + 40ppm).

I think you are saying 40 + 10. If so, wait a couple more days, test, and if still 30, then add enough for 10ppm more.
