Taylor CYA reagent interchangeable?

Does anyone know if the Taylor CYA reagent refill Dave offers is compatable with the HTH 6 way test kit black dot bottomed view tube?

Also, can you dillute the sample to get accurate readings for CYA levels above the 100 ppm, the max shown on the tube? If yes what's the proper way to do so.

Thanks :)

The CYA test in the HTH six way kit sold by WalMart and others is interchangeable with the Taylor reagent sold by TF Test Kits and in the Taylor kits. The scale on the view tube is the same, though it only measures down to 30, instead of 20, and is narrower. I believe that the HTH kit is actually made by Taylor, though some of the tests use less expensive reagents that are not as well compensated for interference.

Hi, amieelynne,

The TF kit comes standard with 4 oz of cya reagent.......enough to do 10 tests for sure, and if you're clever, and know your CYA is up in the 50+ range, you can do even more by using somewhat less reagent per test.
