I am posting 2 pics one is of the steps that are stained and some spots on the liner in the other pic unfortunately might be hard to see the line spots. Sorry for the size as this is first time posting pics

From the pics, it looks like iron is in your water

Hold a vitamin C on the brown stain, if its iron the stain will lift. Then you can try absorbic acid treatment.

Is the stain on the steps at the same level as the water was during the winter?
What are your water numbers?

I had the same thing on my last step, but had tons of organics in the pool over the winter - my 'fast close' last fall and the porous safety cover meant that it took right at 2 weeks to clear the water, but the "stain" went away due to the shock level I maintained.
