    When to test

    When is the best time to test for chlorine and Ph......Before the filter starts in the morning, a few hours after, ect....
    17,200 in ground Vinyl pool......
    Salt Water
    Sand Filter

    After the sun is off the pool in the evening. Any chlorine you add at that point will have all night to work, won't start getting burned off by the sun until the next morning.

    In general its a good idea to have had the water circulating for at least an hour before testing anything.
