Do not waste money on test strips.

Don't worry about total hardness readings - since you have a vinyl pool it doesn't matter. Just focus on getting CYA and chlorine levels in range.

Hello would it be safe to swim in the water the way it is my daughter won't leave me alone everything seems to be in range except stabilizer which I will get tommorrow the only thing is it's not crystal clear it has a slight tint of green to it I did add more clorox and it did raise the chlorine one more spot on the dipstick to ok and the ph is in normal range thanks for the help traci

Since your water is still greenish for her safety I wouldn't - there could be harmful organics and you wouldn't want her to pick up some nasty bacteria. Better to play it safe.
