We have an 18 x 48 Summer Waves AGP. It has the in-wall skimmer and 1 return. Our manual cleaner is not cutting it right now with the dust storm we have been having. We have cleaned the pool 5 times since yesterday and it is still not clean. Our pool is never going to be clean enough to close when it gets cold enough the way things are going.

You know why Oklahoma is so windy? Because Kansas sucks and Texas blows. :)

I just got a Hayward Aqua Bug and LOVE it, but I think the problem you are going to have is your filter and pump system flow rate.

I ran Wanda the Whale on my old Intex 2150GPM system and it ran great with the skimmer off, cleaned up a very dirty 18' pool in about an hour. When I hooked up the new Hayward system I was able to run Wanda and my skimmer together.

Do you know the flow rate of your system?

EDIT:
I just found this Walmart ad, is this your pool?
https://www.walmart.com/ip/Summer-W...mming-Pool-with-Deluxe-Accessory-Set/49220360

It lists a "1500 gallon cartridge filter pump", but that could be the technical spec of the pump, not the system flow rate.

Is that the skimmer that has the pump & filter built into it? If so, I'm not sure how you would hook up any automatic vac.

If you had another pump & filter you could just hookup that to an auto vac and throw the hoses over the pool wall (the Aqua Bug manual mentions that as an option in Step# 7 of the manual https://www.doheny.com/Pdfs/4947.pdf ).

They also make pressure side sweepers that hook up to the return jet. They pretty much just stir up the bottom so more debris makes it into your filter.

Here's the Intex version:

Good luck.

The intex version is awesome- it does stir up the bottom, but it also picks stuff up. I'm always amazed at what it manages to suck up.
