The quote came in pretty high.
18x46 polymer wall pool kit
coverstar autocover
gray inside corner step
gray inwall ladder
gray skimmer build pack
20 mil liner
LeMesa dive stand w/ 8' board
Grey typhoon slide
Pentair VS+ variable speed pump
Pentair sand filter w/ sand
Pentair master temp heater
Pentair LED globrites light (2)
Cost w/ tax $32,244.85 - that doesn't include the concrete collar, concrete decking or plumbing. He wants $3000 to do the cement bottom of the pool.

I have put together a kit that has all of the components except for the coverstar autocover (does have another brand cover) via (royalswimmingpools):

I couldn't find a kit w/ a coverstar cover to compare apples and apples and not sure how to buy a kit and add piece in the cover

I am kinda stuck here. I need a pool contractor to be able to fold this thing into my mortgage but I am not that willing to throw away money either.

HELP!

The way your post is written, it looks like the PB is at least doing some of the installation? Labor is expensive.
No plumbing? What about electrical work?

Who's going to install the kit you priced out? How much will that cost to install it to the same level of the PB price?

18x46 is a huge pool. 3K for the vermiculite (concrete) bottom doesn't sound that bad to me if thats the installed price. The vermiculite alone would probably be over 2K. (mine cost 1400 just for the vermiculite material, + shipping).

Its difficult to be able to compare apples to apples if any installation is included in the PB price.
