DE Filter and pump problem

I have a de pump in which i have taken apart twice and cleaned the fingers and added new de each time. the problem i am experiencing is the filter stoops pumping the preasures are good but i find my self shutting down the filter pumping it then restarting. The filter will pump for about an hour then i have to repeat. any help

Any chance you're trying to clean a 'swamp' of a pool - if so, algae congests a DE filter VERY quickly and about all you can do is 'bump and dump' the filter frequently

Algae is ~ the same size as the paths through the DE coating and fit like 'a key in a lock' so totally clog the DE

For now you can 'bump and dump' the DE but once you're algae free, you'll want to take the filter apart and manually hose the fingers off. Here is my advice on DE filters.
