How much water loss is acceptable?

Hey,

In one month of owning a pool, I have to add water it seems every week or two because it's dropping an inch or more every week or two. I didn't track it closely though.

So I went on a 5 day trip, and came back and it lost at least an inch, probably closer to two.

I haven't been keeping a cover on it, it's still will into the 90s still here, can evaporation do that much loss? Do I have a leak somewhere? There is no visible leaking with any of the pool equipment or external piping.

I also forgot to mention my plaster is really old and needs to be replaced. Does that play into loss?

Yes, per day. Yes, old plaster can start to get a little leaky.
