Want to insulate sides of Intex Pool:

Has anyone done this? and if so, could you share some pics? I have an Intex pool, I really think I the water would stay warmer longer if the thin plastic sides were insulated. Just not sure how to go about it. Half of my pool is under a deck, but the half that is toward our house would be seen by everyone and don't know how to insulate and still make it look nice. Anybody tried?

I doubt it would be of any benefit at all. Direct heat loss is trivial compared to evaporative loss. For half the day most places heat moves from outside the pool into the water because the air is warmer than the water, and insulation will slow that as well as the opposite at night.

I have 4" styrofoam insulation sheets around my pool, below the deck. Can't say that it makes any difference, but feels good. Better solution is to have one of those sliding glass roofs, but they are really expensive.
