Borates question

I am planning to add boric acid to our pool for all the benefits it provides but was wondering if it was better to wait until next season or if it would be ok now? Does the BA need to be added each year or does it remain in place longer than a season?

Borates only leave through pool water exchange with fresh water. So you can add it now or later, it won't change what you put in unless you expect to lose water over the winter.
