Safe to winterize with Return Line Leak?

Hello,
I had a leak detection company find a leak in one of my return lines in our in-ground pool. I have called my PB and a couple of other companies about fixing the problem, but they are booked with closings and other work. They suggested to winterize the pool and take care of it in the early Spring. I was wondering if this will cause more damage to the line or is it the best way to go considering the time of year? Any suggestions or insights are appreciated.

I would not be concerned about closing with a leaky return line. As long as you blow out most of the water from the return line, you should not have water intrusion from the ground causing problems.
