Just for kicks i tried the poolmaster kit the PB gave us. Ph was off and no color really matched, guessing it was closer to 7.6, but 7.4 and 7.8 looked miles away? The ta result was 100ppm, my taylor kit show 70ppm. Scary.

One problem with the PoolMaster kit is that they have you adding thiosulfate chlorine neutralizer before adding the pH reagent. Thiosulfate chlorine neutralization is NOT a pH neutral chemical reaction. So the pH results from that kit are quite likely off.

Taylor actually blends different types of chlorine neutralizers to produce a net-zero pH reaction. The results from the Taylor reagents are far more reliable in that sense.
