If we are starting with brand new water (because we just replaced the liner), is the only thing (for now) we have to add is chlorine? We don't have to worry about anything else until the tests (which reminds me I need to order one of those test kits!) start showing something's off, right?

TIA!

CLC,

Oops! Back to Pool School for you! :-D

1. pH may or may not be in an acceptable range

2. You will have no CYA to protect the chlorine you add.....you gotta' put some in there.

3. YOu need to post a full set of test results to determine if the other parameters need adjustment.

You can get by for now by pouring a small jug of clorox into your pool each evening until you can test and balance your water.

If you post a full set of water test results we can give you better advice. In the short run, you should add 2 ppm of chlorine to the pool each evening. That will be good for a couple of days while you figure the rest out.
