Greetings. I have been coming out in the mornings to find my pool pump running dry after it starts. This just started happening only recently. I have a Hayward Max-Flo 2 1.5hp pump. The check valves appear to be functioning ok and there are no detectable leaks. Any idea what could be causing this to happen all of a sudden?

I see it in your profile, just not on your post.
The only reason a pump will drain like that is because there is an air leak. Probably the pump lid gasket or drain plug. Inspect both for cracks and lube with pool lube.

Mine did that because of a very slight leak in the oring under the handle on my sand filter.
