Closing my pool for winter

Hi all,

First time poster, pool novice here. I'm wanting to shut my pool down for the winter. Is it okay to shut down power to the equipment and just let it sit? Should I continue to add any chemicals? It's a free form pool and we just purchased the house, so no cover. Honestly, I'm tired of filling and maintaining it when it won't be used again until May, however it is still sunny here in Nor Cal so I'm fighting the algea. Thanks in advance!

Welcome. If you're not going to officially close and cover the pool until water temp gets 60 or below........it'll only get worse if you don't fix it now and maintain some FC and circulate it til next season.
