Fittings at the Pump & Filter

A question I have is when installing a pump & filter that have a FIPS connection should I use a schedule 80 MIPS / SLIP for that?

schedule 40 should be fine

New filter is in and no leaks...thanks for all the help from the forum and all the great people here who take there time to help all of us newbies.
