Just a general question if all US "algaecides" are all made by the one manufacturer, why is there such a variance on eBay / amazon for a one qt. bottle from $ 18 to $ 55 + ? Just wondering any insights appreciated.

There are many less expensive algaecides that are not the same chemistry as poly 60. Don't mix up the two.
thanks duraleigh, isn't poly 60 known as the better of the algaecides with the most productive effect on black algae? So a person buying the $55 1 qt bottle is getting the same liquid as a $18 qt bottle as Griswald refers to? thanks
There is only one PolyQuat 60. A $18 bottle is the same stuff as the $55 bottle. The only difference is the markup from the seller. Look for the cheapest bottle with the active ingredient Poly (oxyethylene (dimethyliminio) ethylene (dimethyliminio) ethylene dichloride)........60%
