Suction side pool vac goes around outside edge

I have a suction side pool vac that seems to ONLY want to go around the outside edge of the bottom of the pool. I have tried shortening the hose, adding an extra section of hose, adding weights to the hose, taking weights off.... This has me stumped. It just will not go into the middle, and clean it.

IT is like a Kreepy Krawly, or Zodiac style cleaner, not a robot type.

Has anyone else run into this problem?

there have been a few that have run into this, I am not sure if they ever got it working.. I can tell you my "the poolcleaner" is awesome and hits every inch of my pool bottom and sides (the sides on intex are at a major angle so it does not always go up the side) I do have mine in all the time and it runs whenever the pump is on.. "the poolcleaner" is random so it may take some time to hit every inch
