I have traditionally gone to pool store for this test but was wondering if anyone knew the Taylor R # and procedure for testing hardness on my own?

Last reading was on july 1 : 60 and Leslie's says "too Low"

What are you using to test your other numbers?

You should definitely get your own test kit and not rely on pool store numbers. My personal recommendation is the Taylor TF100 with XL option and speedstir, but others might have a different recommendation.

Your FC is too low for your CYA level. You should add some right away to get your FC up.

ETA: it looks like you have what you need to test for Ph and FC. I think you can just order the CH test alone from Taylor, but I would also recommend having your own tests for TA and CYA. It's up to you, though.

The Taylor K-1770 kit is a stand-alone CH kit and you can get it online at places like Amazon (Amazon.com : TAYLOR TECHNOLOGIES INC K-1770 TEST KIT CALCIUM HARDNESS : Swimming Pool Liquid Test Kits : Patio, Lawn Garden). It has the R-0010, R-0011L and R-0012 reagents and a graduated cylinder.

But, honestly speaking, CH tests are performed fairly infrequently (typically once per month) and calcium hardness doesn't typically require a lot of adjustments, so it's kind of waste to purchase a single use test kit like that as the reagents will go bad before you ever use them up. You'd be better off spending your money on a good, full service test kit like the K-2006 or a TF-100 and do all of the tests yourself. Most pool stores are pretty bad at the tests that you rely on them for, especially the CYA test which is critical to good pool care.

Yes. CH = calcium hardness

I used to get my water tested at Leslie's. The results were all over the place. Especially for CH.
