Any CYA measurement at _5, we round up to the next 10. So consider that your CYA is 40.

We do that because the scale on cya is logatrithmic, not linear. You can see that the gradations between numbers in the vial are not evenly spaced. So halfway between numbers is closer to the higher number.

There is no way to really know. As someone mentioned earlier you can do a diluted test, but as you dilute the pool water you increase the inaccuracy of the test. Anything much over 50/50 dilution which will read up to 200 CYA is wildly inaccurate.

But, for you that is water under the bridge.

That's from before I drained and refilled the pool last week

Oh, thank goodness! I scanned the whole thread twice and still didn't realize it was before the drain. Thank goodness again!!!!!!!!
