Went to visit family with all the kids without hubby
and came back to big surprise of the new pool! Bigger surprise,
He wants me to handle the "pool chemistry":) so ... We've
already had emerald green algae blooms and have managed
to get rid of it by the info from this site... But I'm sure I'll have questions
And need answers. Like, I've treated the pool once last night
and once this morning with 3 cups of household bleach (pool) ph
Has been about 7.6 but the chlorine level still looks like 1.1.

Any thoughts.... Or should I post this question in a different section?
Thanks,
shana

Hey there Shana, welcome to TFP and congrats on the new surprise pool! How fun is that!?

How are you testing your pool? Did you get one of the recommended test kits? That's a must for healthy, clear water.

Next, have you read Pool School yet? Start here- ABCs of Pool Water Chemistry

If your chlorine is being chewed up, try performing an Overnight Chlorine Loss Test- Overnight Chlorine Loss Test

Get us these tests so we can review them with you:
FC
CC
pH
TA
CH
CYA

Thanks. And again, welcome! :swim:

Yippee :flower:
