Possible SWG + Borates and PH 7.2 ?

Hi,

I have a 10k SWG re-plastered pool - about 2 mo old, and it takes quite some acid (~25 oz per day)
TA = 80, CYA=70.

Pool Co. said to keep for a while the PH in a 7.2 range so the plaster will etch nice, exposing the blue pebble from the Taho Blue quartz.

I am wondering if I can make use of borates so it will reduce the acid consumption and as a bonus making water feel nicer.

Thanks for feedback

Borates does not reduce acid consumption....it slows the rate.

I think I would accomplish one thing at a time. Follow your PB's instructions to get your plaster "cured" and then balance your pool water.

When that is done (couple months), then decide if you want to use borates.
