New to forum. Have maintained 20x50 in ground for 15+ years. Has an under coping automatic cover, 10+ft deep end for serious diving. 5 years ago, after several years struggling, we now maintain crystal clear sparkling water with very low cost. My first and strongest advice is stay away from pool store water testing. I believe their goal is no to help you have clear water, it is to sell you $100's of chemicals everytime you walk through their doors. I prefer to keep my pH near the high side, use an auto chlorinator, and buy only liquid shock when on sale. My pool maintenance costs are so low now, I hardly think about it. Read everything on TFP and follow the advice and you too can have a trouble free pool.
