Ladder Guard Question

I have a polaris 380 cleaner, and for the most part it cleans well, but it gets stuck on the steps in the deep end. I have seen a couple of posts about ladder guards (like the polaris G-21), and was wondering if anyone has used this model or similar models, and has there been any issue of dirt/algae forming in the guard. Thanks

The guards work well. The ones I see don't seem to make algae accumulation around the ladder any worse than normal. The only issue I see with them is if the ladder bumpers normally hang an inch or two off the wall. If that's the case then when someone uses it the guards will get pushed around and end up coming off the wall enough that the cleaner hose can get caught behind them.
