I just found water in my SAm light. My pool store says replace it, he's nerver been able to fix one. I noted that the instruction manual states that the 120 v models have an integral 12v trans former. I'm guessing the transformer fails and that's why replacing the motor does not fix the light. Has anyone been able to fix these?

Here's the product parts page: http://www.pentairpool.com/products/replacement_list.php?id=175#. There is a part #619481 called a SAm repair kit, but I have never tried it. Generally speaking it's a replacement as the best option if it's not the bulbs.
Hello, I have the same problem with my pentair SAM light. The colorwheel motor fried out. The pool guy says he needs to change the whole unit, however the unit turns on for 10sec then trips the outlet switch.
I am wondering if you had any luck with yours, and possibly that the receiver that they sell for it could also be the problem, unfortunately I have not found a picture, or anyone who could provide me with a picture or description of the receiver that would be great
