What is the r-7065 for? For testing the cya according to the instructions that came inside of kit doesn't say to use it, but when I look on line at instructions it says use it.

R-7065 is a reagent used to test your R-0013 and/or your CYA testing method. You don't need to use it when performing your every day or every week tests. It is like having the answer sheet to a test. I use it only occasionally when I go to test my CYA and it shows I have close to no CYA in my pool. Then. I am like "Hey, that's not right". Then, I pull out the R-7065, mix it with R-0013 and it shows a reading of around 50 ppm CYA. So, now I know I need to put some CYA in my pool. You don't have to use it very often. I do it at the beginning of pool season to test my R-0013. It also helps you test your testing method.
