High TA dropping it down

Well enough is enough. I tested my water this morning and everything was great except for my TA. So I went to lowes and bought some muriatic acid. According to pool math I put in 10oz. That took my pH down to 7.2. Now I am airiating until my pH is back up to 7.6. Got my new return jet installed so I thought why not take advantage of that to help airiate.

Where is your TA after the MA addition? It might take a few doses. Where do you want to end up?

Water looks great...refreshing! Nice bubble action on that return too.

I was gonna wait to test tomorrow morning. I have a sneaky feeling it will take more than one dose. I bought 2 gallons of MA this morning.

I dropped my ph today too. Had TA 120 and ph was rising every couple days. TA is now 90..would like it around 70 so I guess ill be dropping ph again after aerating yay

That is about where I would like to see mine also. Once my pH gets back up to 7.6 I am sure I am going to be adding more MA

Let your pH get up to 7.8 before you lower it. Doing this will help push TA downward quicker.

Well to give an update. I tested my TA this morning. It was down to 90. Now I just need to keep airiating until I get my pH back up. I check pH this morning after airiating all night it rose to 7.5

got my TA down to 70 today. pH back down also. got aerating going on pool again to get pH back up. then i am hoping that i can hit pool with MA one more time and have it down to where it needs to be.
