Albox SPAIN
Hi

Im Clare from Almeria Spain we are in a rented property and we have a very large pool 10m by 5m and 2m deep in the deep end. We have two girls two dogs, three guinea pigs, one cat and a hamster

This Pool is the bane of our lives, the house is rented very cheaply so we have no back up from the home owner

When we got here the pool had very thick limescale which after numerous attempts with muriatic acid and hydrachloric acid we got most of it off with blow lamp. We had to get the pump reconditioned as it had siezed up after lack of use and we replaced the sand in the sand filter its an astral pool filter and multi valve.

Its now full and we are struggling to keep it clean and clear.

There is fine slit dust on the floor and its cloudy. We have vacuumed but when we turn on filtrate after backwashing dirt is coming back into the pool

HELP

Hello and welcome to TFP! We can certainly try to help you clear the water and remove any silt which may in-fact be the beginning signs of algae. Much of what we tesch here is based on accurate, at-home testing with either a Taylor K-2006C or TF-100 test kit. Not sure what your on-line or mail ordering capabilities are, but either one of those test kits would be the best place to start.

After that, find a local place that has regular liquid bleach available - NO splashless or scented bleaches. Bleach is our primary sanitizer. Please visit our Pool School page and see the other "Vital Links" below in my signature. They, along with the proper test kit, will help you tremendously. Give those a look and let us know what else we can do to help you. Nice to have you with us.

Hiya everyone

We have to change the gasket and selector in the multivalve

So done that shocked it so no more green or brown but it's milky .....
