Ok I'm a bit lost also a newbie. I can't seem to figure out how much bleach to add to the pool. ALso I'm having a hard time keeping clorine levels up can I leave a chlorine tab in with the bleach? Or leave chlorine in during the day and bleach at night?

How big is your pool? A jug of 6% bleach will add about 4.5 ppm of chlorine to 10,000 gallons of water. If your CYA or stabilizer level is at 35-45ppm or so, the bleach should hold through the day without need for any pucks.
