Hey.

due to chlorine consumption I assumed I had algae (hard to tell as I have a black-bottomed spa).

it's an 1100 gallon spa with vanishing edge and overflow basin (300 gallon).

current measurements are

CYA 40
shock FC 16
Combined 1.0
All other levels are balanced
I'm losing 9 FC overnight even though the water is sparkling clear. I've been slamming since last sunday (5 days) Any thoughts on what's going on?

thanks

What's the temp on the spa?

9 FC is unacceptable loss overnight, even in a very hot spa. You must still have some organics in the spa. When did you refill the spa last? Have you ever performed a spa flush on the entire system with a product such as Ahh-some?

I refilled a month ago.

I've never used those products, the spa is only a year old.

Is it okay to use ahhsome or yuk with an inground spa? Also is there one you recommend?

thanks!
