Calcium levels with an attached spa

TFP pool calculator recommends CH between 250-350 with plaster pool, but between 100-150 with a spa - is that 100-150 the number I should shoot for since I have a pool with an ATTACHED spa that spills over into the pool? Pool is about 30,000 gallons. Spa is used less frequently in the hot summers - so another question/option - maintain higher CH during the summer, then lower CH during the winter for SPA?

No, the range for a plaster pool applies to yours in its entirety. Being that your spa is attached, you treat it as one body of water (it essentially is). Higher calcium levels are necessary to protect your finish.

The spa range is for a separate fiberglass type spa.
