Maintaining pool

I am new to the site and I am finishing up my first "successful" pool Slam, hopefully this is the last day. The next series of questions I have are:

1. What is my next step after I am done Slam?
2. I have a pool frogger chlorinator, should I even use that ever again?
3. What chemicals should I have on hand besides bleach?
4. How many times a day should I test my water? I have 2 kids and we usually use the pool a couple hours a day.

Thanks in advance for the help, I feel like this site has really opened my eyes to taking care of my pool. I have had my pool since we moved into my house four years ago, and it has never looked clearer than when I have done this Slam.

#1.. enjoy your pool
#2.. Up to you... I have bleach just laying around and it really isn't difficult to add 1/2 gal here and there
#3.. Muratic acid / Chlorine stabilizer if your results warrant it...
#4.. once maybe twice depending on bather load... What ever you feel is necessary. I test every other but we don't swim much at the moment
