About a month ago, I decided to change the sand in my pool filter. I have no history of the pool (how old, maintenance issues, etc.) and was having a masssive algae issue. So we decided to change the filter sand before doing a SLAM.
In the process of cleaning it all out, one of the lateral arms inside the filter arm broke. I replaced the arm and finished replacing the sand. Ever since then i have been getting sand in the sight glass after backwashing and rinsing. I pull the glass, clean it out and the next time there is more sand. My dolphin robot runs all the time and I haven't yet found sand. And because of the water isn't swimmable I can't tell if there is sand on the bottom of the pool.
So is this normal?
